We bought a house!!

We are at the end of the street in a beautiful neighborhood just full of families with kids. We have FOUR bedrooms, a gorgeous kitchen, and Marc and I have a bog ole’ walk-in closet and soaker tub. I have never really been a bath person, but I am quickly changing my ways. It’s my new reward for myself after Marc’s 12 hour work days. I light some candles, turn off the lights, and have sometime all by myself.

I was really missing my mom and sisters with the move. I wanted to be able to walk them thru are new home and celebrate with music and French fries. But we made do with FaceTime calls and pictures. Luckily, the Walkers came over with their blasting speaker and we had an inaugural dance party.

We danced to “Welcome to Our House”

We moved on Wednesday, because Marc has Wednesdays off, but the middle of the week can be a little dicey to find help. luckily we had help from the Dunns (Melinda and her 3 boys she volunteered), two sets of missionaries, the Barry’s, and the Reeves took my kiddos the whole first of the day.

After a full day of moving we learned: donuts are always an acceptable choice to bring as an offering to the moving gods, a sissy toolkit is sufficient for detaching a washer and dryer with some elbow grease, Levi’s giant Batman is the covet toy of all boys ages 2-20, cardboard boxes still make the best playthings, and good friends are priceless.

Hazel relaxing on our half wrapped couch
Levi’s bed didn’t fit through his door, so Marc and Levi took a much deserved moving day nap on the crib mattress
“Mom, the boxes are our umbrellas!”

And Marc is so happy that our gazebo has a tin roof, because rain on a tin roof is his favorite sound.

We had our first family dinner in our new house on a cardboard box table and the best green enchiladas ever (thanks Andrea)

We have our own backyard!! There is nothing like running thru your own lawn

The night before our move I told Marc, most of my “big life goals” are getting checked off (buy our own house, Marc start his career, etc) now we need to hit the drawing board in the dream department again.
