Easter

I love Easter morning. And Jesus Christ. I know He lives.

Conference doesn’t start till 11am and it was a gorgeous brisk morning out, so we went and the South Bosque trail. Being from Arizona, I have never really experienced Spring before. And it is beautiful! Almost overnight, everything is green, new, and full of new life. I now understand why there are so many poems and sonnets written about Spring.

The girls, especially Ruby, have gained the attention span to color for long periods of time. They happily colored through sessions of conference. Ruby found a coloring page with Jasmine on it, she emphatically declared, “Oh Jasmine!! I’ve wanted to color a picture like this for my whole life!!”

I’ve been thinking a lot about Easter, Jesus and wanting to make it special for my kids. So I had the idea to poke holes in eggs and blow out the yokes and whites. After they were cleaned and dried I printed out a variety of paintings of Jesus. The egg can represent the tomb but the different pictures were because Christ means different things for us at different times. He has so many different roles, “Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

We watched the last session with the Walkers and had Easter dinner with them. They are some of our Texas favorites!

We sang primary songs and the kids acted out the resurrection story from the Bible.
