Recipes from the Red Cook Book

My mom is one of the best cooks and bakers around. And she keeps all of her favorite recipes in her treasured Red Cook Book. To some, it would look like an ordinary, red bound, blank paged read sketch book. But to the well trained eye, and stomach, you would know it is magical and may be considered cookbook scriptures. (Is that wrong to say?) most of my childhood happy food memories come from The Red Cook Book. So before my mom came out for a visit, I wanted to make some recipes from it together. So I had her send me some recipes. So I thought I would just save them here as a reference spot for me, till I actually sit down to write them down in my own Red Cook Book (although mine is actually a light lime green).
