Texas week 9

Sunday was just really good. Marc made homemade bread so we could have some for the sacrament, so our house smelt of fresh baked bread. I made myself a sandwich for dinner, and while I was slicing the bread I flippantly told Marc, “I’m just going to eat all the bread.” And instantly both girls started crying that they wanted bread too and it wasn’t fair for mom to eat all of it… geese apparently we take our carbs very serious around here.

We took a family drive in the late afternoon to a part of the neighbor we haven’t seen yet. And I’m not even joking someone had a zebra in their pasture. What is Texas?!

Monday I started our homeschool preschool with the girls with a pre-reading program. It went really good. And I feel very optimistic about it.

Monday evening we spent together at the “new splash pad.” When we got home and talked about our Happy Time, everyone said they loved playing Ring Around the Rosie together at the splash pad before we came home. Levi was more than delighted to be “big enough” to hold hands in the circle too. It was wet and silly and very magical.

We went to the zoo with our Walker friends! Nothing like 5 little girls, and Levi, giggling at the animals. The girls especially enjoyed the fish exhibit where I led our wiggling gang to some made up hula dancing while Disney’s Hawaiian roller coaster ride song played.

On the weekend we had an Elephant and Piggie book party over Google Hangouts with the Smiths back in Arizona. Shelly and I coordinated and we made the same crafts and confetti cookies to eat during our party together.

Each parent read a story.

Ruby and Jayden did puppet shows for everyone.

It almost felt like we weren’t states apart.

Not pictured is Hazel who did NOT want her photo taken.

It was really fun to “hang out” with some favorite friends from afar.
