Texas week 8

Sunday we went to church. Marc was the speaker, and yes he wore his mask while he spoke.

I managed our three small humans on the church pew. Levi’s entertainment included escaping to the ground and then speed crawling several rows behind us to make a made dash to the door. Ruby was quite miffed that I did not bring acceptable coloring options. And Hazel not to quietly was quoting her favorite line from Big Hero Six, “We went through a window!!” Though there were a few movements of calm I was really glad Marc had read me his talk the night before so I could at least follow what he was sharing from the stand.

Several mornings this week we took strolls around our apartment complex. And if we brought masks, we would stop by the front office to get a treat.

This boy, he has my heart. He has started waving and it just makes me so happy. He just grins and waves everywhere we go.

Friday Lane and Trisha extended their layover in Austin to spend the morning in town with us! We were all thrilled to have some family in Waco. They went to the Silos and we met them at the Dr. Pepper museum. The museum was okay, but Hazel was in tears because the elevator was apparently terrifying.

This photo was snapped by Ruby Mack. I love her little fingers that made it in the cut.

Friday night turned sour, literally. And Ruby barfed over the floor. Everyone else’s stomachs were on edge the rest of the weekend so we just let ourselves have a lazy weekend, though Marc did give the house a nice wipe down with Clorox and Bleach. We finished reading the original Peter Pan so we picked up the live action movie at the library. The girls were totally wowed by it and asked questions when the book and the movie differentiated. For example, when the kids where flying to Neverland Ruby asked, “When does Michael fall asleep when they are flying?” Because in the book the children fly for days to the island and Michale drifts off and literally falls from the sky into several potentially dangerous circumstances. It’s always nice and surprising to know my girls really are listening and taking in what we are reading at bed time. Especially since Peter Pan has a bit of old language and an interesting cadence and style.
