Week 11 Quarantine

Sunday we had a 5:15am wake up call with, “Mom! I wet the bed.” So sleeping after that was out of the question and we hit the ground running. We got the girl and her bed clean, packed breakfast to go, and went to the cemetery to say hi to Jen for the Memorial Day weekend.

To help incentivize the girls to keep going and to be sweet on our graveyard walk I let them each take a photo when we made it to a destination. This is one of Ruby’s shots.

It was great to have Marc home all day on Memorial Day! (Like the good olé’ quarantine days😂 when we played all day with him)

It just feels right to have juicy cold watermelon when celebrating our fantastic America

Tuesday night Marc’s parents took us out to dinner to celebrate graduation. It was a delicious and fun night just the four of us. The girls had a babysitter and went to bed before we got home, but they both came storming out of their room at 8:30 because, “No one even brushed our teeth!” And Hazel shot a sharp look at Marc on the couch, “And you’re a dentist!” Too true my sassy small daughter. So they were brushed, swished mouth wash (oh the beloved Trolls Queen Poppy mouthwash), and then they reluctantly climbed back in bed.

Ping (Hazel) and I went on a solo walk, with sword in tow.

Eve gave Ruby the first basic diving lessons. Eve was happy to have an enthusiastic student, and Ruby was totally jazzed to get a big girl lesson. We are going to miss Eve so much.

And then there is this big boy on campus, walking around the pool in his floaty chasing a ball. And he couldn’t be happier.
We had Maddi and Bennett over for a play date and school lunch party! It felt so good to have our buddies over! COVID has really taught us to appreciate the little things like having friends over. Isn’t Bennett the cutest?! And yes, that is a mattress in my family room. Marc and I got a new one and I have yet to dispose of my old one. And it has made an excellent inside trampoline. 😂

Jay and Lori took us out to their favorite ice cream spot to celebrate Marc’s gradations. It’s easy to tell that we love these guy and that the ice cream was delicious… just look at those smiling faces.

I just wanted to document the beautiful cousin chaos. This just makes my heart so happy… and sad that we will no longer be just down the street from each other.

In the afternoon we had an irrigation and swim party with the Dentinos (little Dentons) and our regular Dentons.

We are going to miss the Dentinos, not every rental property comes with built in cousins to play with. (From left to right: Eli (3.5), Caroline (almost 2), Levi (almost 1!), Annie (5), Ruby (4), Hazel ( almost 3).
The less popular hot irrigation yoga. No joke, that water was really hot after baking in the sun all afternoon. Also pictured: Levi’s little finger in the top left corner. Thanks little buddy.
And now the downward facing dog… nice try Hazel…

My favorite moment in the pool was after Ruby got her first decent dive by herself, we all cheered when she was coming up but all that came above the surface were to enthusiastic thumbs up, quickly followed by the rest of my beaming mermaid Ruby girl.

To top it off Ivy and Chloe came over for a pizza party with Abby and Taylor. And we swam another hour till everyone was way too tired.
Marc was telling the girls the Shakespearean version of three little pigs. Ruby was captivated through all the “not by wit or whispered jowl.”

Friday night we had a glow stick swim party. And Ruby was ticked. She was not sleeping, and could hear the party out her window. I went in to check on her, “Mom! The kids are playing torpedo in the dark! We should ALL go swim in the dark right now!”
