This week has been a swim in the morning and swim in the afternoon kind of time. And it’s been wonderful. Until I totally fried my left shoulder Tuesday afternoon. Ouch.
We had Chloe and Chirag over for a final family dinner! I regret not taking pictures, we were having such a great time. They are some of our favorites and it felt like we got some closure for dental school getting to say goodbye. And now we have friends to visit when we make it to New York.
Wednesday was Abby’s 21st birthday! Our unicorn sprit animal. Crazy.

On Thursday Eve came over in the morning. She finished her online school for the day and had nothing to do. Ruby and Hazel couldn’t have been happier to have such a fun captivated audience.
Hazel’s favorite Disney movie is Mulan. And for at least half of the week Hazel would only respond to Ping, Mulan’s soldier name. And if we accidentally called her Hazel, out of habit, she quickly corrected us, “No. I’m Ping!” Marc flippantly asked her if she knows Kung Fu, and she quickly shot back, “Yeah, cuz I’m Ping.”
When she is not Ping, her second choice is Raja, Jasmine’s pet tiger. She cracks me up.
It is so strange that restaurants can only use half of their tables to maintain social distancing, smaller modified menus are used, and all the servers wear face masks.
We giggled when a different server stopped by to fill our glasses and she complimented me on my fabulous outfit and told us that all of the serving staff were talking about me in the back.
I sold the girls hutch dresser, my dresser, and my small jewelry hutch! I’m so excited and feel really good with some extra mental space not having them. But Ruby has been quite upset about it. “Mom! I don’t like when you sell all our dressers!! That’s my stuff. And I don’t like when they are gone!” I forget sometimes that this move is a huge change for her too. So I got down on her level, gave her a big squeeze, and we had a good heart to heart. I let her know that it’s okay to feel upset and acknowledged there are lots of changes with moving. Then we made a list of somethings that will be the same: we will still read lots of stories, go for walks together, sing primary songs in bed, go swimming, and make pancakes for breakfast. Then we hugged it out and we both felt a little better. Lots are going to change, but it’s nice to remember lots, if not more, will stay the same. Thanks Ruby for helping me slow down and keep that perspective.

I won a photo shoot on Instagram (woot woot!) we haven’t gotten the photos back yet, but my dad came (bless him) to help as an extra pair of hands with all the babies, and he snapped a few (read, a thousand) pictures also. Family photos make my dad’s heart so happy, so we was thrilled to come with us and get to take some of his own.

Our photographer was Callie Mechem, we actually grew up in the same neighborhood. She asked if we had a preference on location, and I told her I just wanted a “classic Arizona” shoot. So we went to the riparian preserve, and it was perfect. We couldn’t of asked for a better sky. Thanks Arizona. I just feel really blessed to call this little family mine.
