The week started with Mother’s Day! I will openly admit, growing up I never was the girl who just couldn’t wait to be a mom and have a house full of little babies. And going to college made me so happy. I love school and learning new things. Working to provide for my family always left me feeling unfulfilled. I have never had so much joy, been stretched so hard, felt so reward and with a purpose, and felt so loved and apart of something with massive value as being a mother. I know in all of my soul that I was made to me a mom. My kids at times during the day get fiesty, push buttons, and won’t listen; but if something really goes wrong I am the mom and the one they run to for comfort, love, a band aid, and to feel safe.

EARLLLLLLLY Monday morning Marc and I set off to Waco to find a place to live when we move next month. Flying during a pandemic is so weird. Everyone is required to wear a mask, 6 feet social distancing is encouraged/ required, all airport kiosks are closed, most restaurants are not open, anything that is open has large plexiglass shields up to protect workers from customers. And irony of all, we flew to Texas on a completely full plane.
It was an exhausting whirlwind trip

You would think with the world shutdown with COVID finding a place would be easier. Wrong-O. Rental places were gone as soon as they hit the market, and sometimes before they hit the market… We walked through about 20 homes, looked at 5 different apartment complexes, and drove everywhere in Waco. With all the driving around we also drove through plenty of gorgeous neighborhoods wear we drove real slow and just gawked at beautiful homes.

Then just like that we were home Wednesday night. When we pulled up my girls just ran and tackled me on the grass. Sometimes, it’s really good to be the mom.

We had a fantastic irrigation party with Kate, Shelly, and our combined seven children.

Ruby, also gorgeous. Got a real smile, and she insisted posing with that orange bell pepper. It was just a perfect evening of swimming, peaches, and playing outside.
