Last week Marc had a job interview in Midland, Texas. We have worked/ waited almost seven years of school, to finally be on the receiving end of wining and dining. The itinerary included- flight out to Midland, hotel stay for us, Marc shadow their office on Friday, night out with the Dr. and his family, Saturday see the town, Sunday go to church, and fly home. A perfect snap shot of our potential financial, social, and spiritual future. Levi would come too, he is kind of attached to me and the milk. Marc and I were so excited, we haven’t had a vacation away by ourselves since spring 2015. Then the stomach flu hit our house. Wah wah wah…. Ruby barfed her guts out, Hazel was running a fever, and I wished I could barf I was so green. And Levi’s ear infection was back. Guess who got to stay home?? This mom.
Marc and I had a brief mourning of our holiday away, and then I worked hard to put my positive pants on and make the most of quality one on one time with my babies.

There was lots of story reading, Disney movies, cereal for dinner, explosive moments with toddlers with larger than life feelings in small bodies, and snuggling in my bed.

We saw SANTA!! It was magical and all I hoped for.

At my house we always believe! And I love how Hazel just wanted to hold Levi’s hand.

I am not beneath bribing my kids with donuts for pictures with Santa, especially when Santa is providing said donuts. Plus look how cute Ruby’s hat is my mom made.

I had a favorite things party with some friends in the neighborhood, with the fanciest food spread. (Great job Claire and Natalie) Ooh la la. AND Claire made the most delicious candied cranberries!

Then Sunday morning was like a bomb went off. Miss Ruby was up till 10pm, then in my room at 3am, and awake and ready for the day at 4:45 am. And Hazel was in my room at 4am. Luckily Levi slept till 5. And I felt SO sick! I finally called my mom at 6:30am and she just took them all to her house so I can sleep. Turns out I got mastitis again. Oh joy. More snuggles and Face Time calls with Marc and we were all home and sleeping in our own beds by 9pm
