1 week with 3 kids

We have successfully navigated and survived the first week with three kids three and a half and under. (Ruby 3.5, Hazel 2 tomorrow, and Levi 1 week).

Bullet points from the week:

Levi and I spent the first 2 days in the hospital resting and getting reacquainted with one another.

Levi and I came home on Father’s Day. Marc and the girls went to his family’s for dinner while me and the baby stayed home to sleep. I just sleep all day. And so does Levi (#MrBlueJeans)

Our first night home, I finally layed back down after feeding Levi when Hazel started crying. Really crying. Marc went to check on her and from their room shouted, “Start the shower!” Barf. I turned on the shower than rushed in her room. Hazel and her bed were covered in bright red throw up. Sleep deprived and very taken aback by the color, I ask “Red?! Marc, why is it red?” “I don’t know… wait, she had like a million red licorice at my parents… And we went on a long walk to go feed the goats and she probably got a little heat exhaustion.” Feeling a little better I showered Hazel while Marc cleaned her bed.

I had a quality episode of baby blues and sobbed in the car to get groceries

Ruby couldn’t wake up from night terrors was just so up set thrashing in her room. It is so hard to watch.

Now and again Levi would have a burp stuck and would just cry till we were able to get it out. But he has that adorable “new baby cry” and it’s hard to be too sad. I laugh when one of my natural instincts when Levi get a big bubble out, is to tell him, “that was a good burp. Good job Buddy.” Because I did that with all my babies. Like being a parent suddenly makes you an expert on judging the quality of burps. And Marc and I haven’t had a baby burp to critique in a while.

One night I layed down with Ruby and brought Levi in too. Ruby was thrilled! She told us stories for over 45 minutes. They are almost all about princess. She was going on about a fight and then “the bad guy died. And died. And died. And died. But he wasn’t dead!” (Plot twist)
