Snuggle happy time

Tonight when Marc and I were saying out happy times –

Marc’s happy time was when Hazel woke up from her afternoon nap, well before Ruby and I were done sleeping. And Marc brought Hazel into our bed and they just snuggled and read The Pout Pout Fish.

Marc also took her to his ministering interview appointment and she was still waking up from her nap and all timid, she she just sat next to him on the couch with her arms folded the whole time.

In the car we were singing If Your happy And you know it, and right now my favorite things is when Hazel shouts her little delayed “Hooray!”

Hazel did great in nursery today, until they started singing Old McDonald Had A Farm, because when they started singing about the pigs, Hazel for no apparent reason lost it. Balling and screaming. Mortally offended that Adam Anderson sang about pigs. But then they busted out the bubbles and she was good again. Too funny.

My happy time was laying down by Ruby in her big girl bed. I brought in my iPad and was reading my scripture and Ruby was just telling me stories asking me about what I was reading, admiring her new mermaid pillow case from Abby. Laying there almost nose to nose with Ruby’s eyes glittering with content. And I thought, “I have arrived. This is one of those parenting things you love forever.” I was a little nervous getting her a big girl bed, but now we can lay by her and read stories in bed and hear all about the things she has to say I love it.

And we are so blessed because I have been a little torn trying to figure out where to get a bed and how much we wanted to spend. And it has been REAL cold lately so we haven’t been able to go for walks, and last week it was a little warmer and Marc was itching to get out of the house, so we went for a walk and the Hobbs were getting rid of their girls white trundle bed and had put it out in front of their house for free to go. So I walked up to her house and told Lindsey I wanted to take her bed, we borrowed the Willis truck and Ruby got a bed. Blessings! And it is a trundle so Hazel is ready we have a place for her. Then my mom and dad were at a warehouse sale and found brand new potter barn twin blankets for the beds and a second mattered for the trundle for $40. So now it will all March when we throw little brother and his blue in the kids room.
