Tonight as Marc and I were laying in bed talking about the weekend and the new week starting.
Friday the girls and I went to the Zoo with Jenny, David, Zander, and Wesley. So fun, and hot, and then wet at the splash pad. And no one loves the zoo as much as the Johnsons. Jenny is in lots of pain always, thank you brain cancer, and it was a warm day so I was trying to make our loop around the zoo shorter and then just sit more comfortably in the shade at the splash pad. But Jenny kept insisting we got to just one for animal exhibit. It was a really fun morning with Jen and the babies. I really love Jenny.
Friday night, we had grilled pizzas at Jo and Ty’s with my Dad and played Catan after we put all the kids to bed. My dad won the first round and Jo won the second. Tyler told us after my Dad left, that he had started counting my Dad’s cards he picked up and he was totally over drawing both games. Oh Papa.
Saturday I drove Jenny and I to Emily Woods bridal shower. I am so excited for Emily. She, like me, decided to stay home from a mission to get married so we have talked on the phone a lot. It was fun to take Jenny and just spend some one on one time together.
Saturday night we hosted a “younger” family party with some friends in the ward. We had 5 couples and 4 kids under 3. I was a little worried at first with the families with kids to families without kids ratio, and no one really knew each other, BUT by the end of the night everyone was in the pool taking and having a great time. Success!
Sunday night I made treats to take to my old young women girls that are all SENIORS in high school. (Say it isn’t so. I just can’t believe it.) They have all just been on my mind, and I haven’t been able to shake it so I made these brownie, cookie, rice crispy treats (because senior year can be kinda a lot, like my dessert, but it is all really sweet. See what I did there? Eh) but I have made a new commitment to be off sugar so I didn’t even try them and took them to people (Marc tried them, separately and said they were good) the best stop was Taylor. She said she really loved having me as a young women leader and wished she could have had me longer. Tear. And I told her that I especially loved having her. She is just quick, fun, and is a superior side commentator.
After reviewing the week Marc told me was so proud of me. I had a party without having an anxiety attack and took treats with out tasting them or freaking out. (Which is something I would have NEVER done maybe even 6 months ago). Way to go us! I love Marc.
