Five kids 4 and under

Jo did my hair Thursday night and we traded to watch their kids Friday night while they went out. So Marc and I played house with our five kids 4 and under (Jones 4, Calvin 2.5, Ruby 21 months, Margo 10.5 months, and Hazel 4 months).

The kiddos had macaroni, Jones reminded Calvin, “Cal, you have to eat your noodles or Ruby will eat them.” Ruby is a little garbage disposal at Jo’s and cleans the boys plates. She also will snatch their cups if they are with in reach. But she really just does that to make them mad. Stinker.

After the finished Marc told Ruby, Cal, and Jones that when it was time for me to feed Hazel that he would go out and jump on the tramp with them. There were cheers of excitement. Jones said, “oh yes! I like when you come jump with us Marc. My dad only ever jumps with us for us for one hour and you jump with us for ten hours.”

Margo stayed in with Hazle and I and was a pretty happy girl looping the couch till I was almost done feeding. Then she just started crying. I sat down next to her as soon as I was done and she instantly happied up and Hazle and Margo were just talking together. I had one baby girl on each leg and Hazle would just giggle as Margo tried to poke her eyes.

On the tramp Jones told Marc about the moon and stars. “The stars live in the moon. And every night the stars come out to play. And every morning they go home to the moon to go to bed. But not all the stars come out to play, that’s why the moon still shines.”

Next it was bath time for the babies

We don’t have a tub anymore, so Ruby was ecstatic to take a bath. The boys loonhally here, but we had three out of theee of their kids crying by the end of the bath. Ruby like to splash which Margo did not appreciate; and the boys did not like getting the hair washed.

But soon enough we went from four bath babies, to four towel babies (and one Hazle baby) in the family room, to four pj babies, two five praying babies before they became four bed time babies.

Calvin wanted Marc to tell him a story, and he tried to explain what story he wanted (we had no idea. It has a wolf and a tree house) Luckily, Jones picked out Curious George and Calvin was okay with that option. We learned latter that Calvin’s story was just one Tyler made up. But Calvin was pretty frustrated that Marc didn’t just know what he was talking about. Oh, Cal Man.

Then Marc, Hazel, and I snuggled up on the couch to watch Wonderwoman. Then Jo and Ty came home and we chatted till almost midnight. They went on and on about how good the new Thor movie was. And we chatted about Ty’s potential new business ideas, hipster store fronts, Malaysia, babies, life post dental school, their trip to Egypt, Christmas, and McKay’s love life. Jo and Ty are hands down our best friends.
