Last Tuesday, Marc and I got a 2 am wake up call to a crying baby with a bed full of barf. This was our first real sick baby parent moment and I think we handled it really well. We jumped in to action- I got Ruby and soon had her in a bath and Marc took her bedding outside to hose off.
There is nothing sadder than a sick baby. Ruby just looks up at me with her hug confused eyes and just wants to know what is wrong and why she feels so bad.

Though I admit, I loved all of the quality time I got just to sit and snuggle her. With my mom heading out of the country next week and Marc’s mom had Jenny recovering from brain surgery, I literally had no where i could take a sick baby to go to work. So Ruby and I had a whole week together. I haven’t had that kind of one on one since she was born. I absolutely loved my week with her. I think it is just what my little mama heart needed. Especially before baby number 2 comes in July.

You know you may have a sick baby when their dresser looks like this…
With a week of vomit and diahrea, there were a lot of baths and laundry. Luckily, even sickness can’t get this girl down in the tub.
